Job description

Here at James Chase we are currently looking for a talented E-Learning Developer to join a high-growth Education Tech platform that is helping to power schools and teaching globally

As an eLearning Developer you will work within the Institute Digital Learning Team to develop and deliver The Institute’s suite of online offerings. From Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses, through initial teacher training, professional development, and leadership training, you will work on high quality but flexible approaches to learning, designed to help school staff teach and lead with confidence. 
As a core member of the Digital Learning Team, you will be responsible for online content development and ensuring excellence in design, delivery, and quality assurance.

This role is based at their Sheffield office with a flexible hybrid working structure (2x office visits per week)

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with the eLearning Development Team and Learning Design Team to create course content based on pre-designed story boards, style-guides and pre-defined colour palettes
  • Feed into the storyboards and style-guides as appropriate to ensure high quality outputs
  • Deputise for the project lead to guide and support course authors and/or outsource development companies through the online content development process
  • Support the planning and design of interactive course content in conjunction with course authors and/or outsource development companies as well as the eLearning Development Team Lead and/or Learning Design Lead
  • Work as a part of a team to assemble the digital product in the required format(s), while ensuring it meets instructional requirements, style-guides, storyboards specified by the Institute and reflects the learning outcomes outlined by the author
  • Ensure that the content development processes are followed including each review, quality assurance and permissions stage
  • Assume responsibility for the timely development of online course content 
  • Help maintain schedules for the team and project management records for assigned development work
 What will you need to succeed? 
  • Experience in a learning, technology, digital content, or graphic-design related role
  • Excellent attention to detail (visual, textual, and functional)
  • Demonstrable time management, planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • An ability to work well within teams both internally and externally
  • An ability to quickly take on and learn new information
  • A positive and professional attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An excellent grasp of spelling and grammar
  • A desire to stay up to date and expand knowledge on instructional design and eLearning industry trends and related technologies
