Overview

As a member of the DevOps team, the candidate will act as a liaison between developers, infrastructure, and other supporting teams to optimize and hone market delivery. A successful candidate will use automation to enable a “Rapid Concept To Production” process, and enable developers for self-service through teaching and assisting with programming and operational tasks. DevOps members advocate for and enable developers to do their best work every day, while enhancing our overall utilization of our infrastructure to optimal cost-effective levels.

 

A Dev Ops Engineer will create impact in the following ways:

  • Automating changes to live environments
  • Modernizing technical architecture
  • Optimizing build engineering
  • Implementing metric and logging architecture design and implementation
We appreciate candidates that have exposure to the following technology platforms:

  1. Azure DevOps administration experience: repos, pipelines, artifacts, permissions, and self-hosted agents
  2. GitOps
  3. .NET / .NET Core / PowerShell experience
  4. Rancher 2.x
  5. Networking: TCP/HTTP protocols, SSL, DNS, load-balancing, subnets, etc.
  6. TeamCity / Octopus Deploy
  7. GrayLog / Application Insights / Splunk / LGTM Stack
  8. Helm / Kustomize
Responsibilities

The right candidate will do this by bringing their education and professional experience in the following technology spaces:

  1. Build Engineering: experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and the infrastructure within which they run. Experience using container platforms in production.
  2. Scripting and Programming: functional knowledge of at least 1 programming language, 1 shell, and 1 version control system
  3. Logging and Monitoring: understanding of the architectures and support of centralized logging technologies and metric definition and delivery
  4. Reliability Engineering: experience in design and auditing of applications to minimize operational risk to infrastructural and application stack design vulnerabilities
  5. Modern Frameworks: Passion for the discovery and operation of modern application runtime frameworks such as Kubernetes, App Services, and Serverless Functions
  6. Logical Problem Solving: The ability to solve challenges by breaking them down into their constituent components, which will allow you to arrive at a discrete set of steps to address the issue
